Special Emergency Response Team

The acronym S.E.R.T. stands for Special Emergency
Response Team. The team is comprised of highly-trained Sheriff’s Deputies
from the various divisions, squads and sections as well as a medic from Stanly
County Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Deputies volunteer for the
Sheriff’s S.E.R.T. and must be approved by the Sheriff to begin training with
the team. Each
member must attend and complete the Basic Special Weapons and Tactical Operator
class provide by the
