These procedures are for residents only.  If you reside in a county other than Stanly County, please go to the Sheriff's Office in the county in which you reside to process your application.

After you have completed your CCW firearms course and receive your certificate please come by the Stanly County Sheriff's Office and obtain your "Application for Concealed Handgun Permit" or download the application and  required documents from below.  Please follow the directions to complete the application.  The CCW applications are processed by Sgt. Kim Thompson and they are done by APPOINTMENT ONLY Monday through Thursday.  Please contact Sgt. Thompson at 704-986-3719 to make an appointment. 

When you come in for your appointment be prepared to pay the $90.00 application fee.  On the application there are two locations where your signature will need to be Notarized prior to processing your application.  The Sheriff's Office can provide notary service for an additional cost of $5.00 per signature.  After you complete your application procedure with Sgt. Thompson it can take up to 90 DAYS for the Sheriff's Office to complete the background investigation at which time your CCW Permit will be issued.
