The Detective Division is supervised by a Captain and Lieutenant. Cases assigned to Detectives can range from small thefts to homicides. Crimes involving juveniles are also investigated by the Detective Division. Detectives work closely with prosecutors and outside agencies on a daily basis.

The Drug Unit is supervised by a Captain, and investigates crimes associated with the illegal use, possession, and sale of controlled substances. Working closely with numerous Federal and State agencies, the Drug Squad has recorded record seizures of illegal drugs in Stanly County. Additional areas of investigation include crimes related to the illegal possession and sale of alcohol, and illegal gambling operations.   

"A Child is Missing Alert"  is a new tool for Stanly County Sheriff's Office to assist in locating a missing Child, Senior or College Student.  Add your unlisted home phone number or cell phone number to the "A Child is Missing" Alert website.  This will enable you to receive phone calls when a child is missing in the Stanly County area.  Just click on the "A Child is Missing Alert" picture follow the directions.
