The Stanly County Sheriff's
Office Detention Division consists of 4 squads. These officers are responsible for
the center and for the inmates housed there. On average the center holds
around 100 inmates at a time. The Stanly
County Detention Center consists
of 3 male cell blocks, 1 female block, 5 single cells, and a cell block for
trustees. At this time a new Detention Center is in the final stages of
construction and should be opened in the near future. Stay tuned for
information on the operation of the new center.
Visitation Rules
1. Visitation for Male Inmates with LAST name beginning with letters A-M is on Tuesday
night from 7pm to 9pm.
2. Visitation for Male Inmates with LAST name beginning with letters N-Z is on Thursday
night from 7pm to 9pm.
3. Clergy visits are Tuesday and Thursday during the hours of 8:30 am to 10:30 am and 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm
4. Any and all visitors entering the Public Access of the Center will be subject to a search as well a
computer check to locate any outstanding warrants on the visiting party.
5. If you have ever been an inmate in the Stanly County Detention Center you
will not be allowed visitation with a current inmate unless you are an immediate
family member .
Inmate Property Receiving
1. Any Inmate clothing or property will be received at the public entrance to the Detention Center
during the hours of 9:00 am thru 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday.
2. Absolutely no Inmate clothing or property will be received during the hours of any
scheduled visitation.
