There will NOT be a curfew tonight for Stanly County. But please know that many roads still have debris on them and many of the low water bridges are still flooded. Please be careful if you are out driving and try to stay on the main roads. Thank you for all your patience and support during this storm.
ATTENTION: The Stanly County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with Stanly County Emergency Services, County Manager, Commissioners and Albemarle PD are implementing a COUNTY WIDE CURFEW for Stanly County starting tonight at 9pm and lasting until 6am Monday morning. This is for the safety of ALL our citizens and families! Please adhere to this curfew and stay off the roads unless it is an Emergency or work related. This will be enforced!
UPDATE: DOT has advised they are closing and putting barricades at ALL low water bridges in the county as best they can. Please know the rains have picked up and the Flash Flooding warning time frame has been extended. If possible STAY inside and out of this weather. We have called in extra Sheriff's Office personnel for the safety of our citizens and families. Please keep all these folks in your prayers that are out working for your families.
UPDATE: Please be aware that Stanly County is still under a flash flood warning until 2:15 today. Deputies are out and we are seeing alot of downed trees across the county due to high winds and rain. Also, some of our secondary roads and bridges are beginning to flood. If you must travel PLEASE use the highways and main roads and avoid the "country" roads. WE are here and ready if you have an emergency or need us.
Attention: We are currently under a tropical storm warning and flood warning. We should see the stronger winds up to 40 mph and more rain within a few hours. ALL Public Safety personnel, 911 Communications and volunteers are out working and keeping us safe. A big Thank You to our DOT and Linemen that are keeping trees off the roadways and working to keep power on. Please stay safe and remember those that keep working hard for our great county and citizens.
